Katharine Hope McPhee (born May 6 1976) is an American singer, songwriter and actress. In May 2006, she won finalist on the fifth season of American Idol. The album titled "Eponymous" was released on RCA Records on January 30, 2007, and was a top-two debut at the top of the Billboard 200, selling 381,000 copies. After her exit from Scorpion the band, she appeared in the role of Jenna Hunterson in Waitress on Broadway in the year 2018. The singer-songwriter returned to the role for a second stint on Broadway from 2019 to 2020. Since her first solo album "Self-titled", she's released four additional albums. Taylor Hicks became the fifth winner of American Idol on May 24 April, 2006. Katharine MacPhee was the winner of American Idol in 2006. She beat out Chris Daughtry (then 29) and Kellie Peckler.
